Why Distinct IT
See why we're different
A response SLA you can rely on
No chasing a ticket queue, you get a real commitment on how fast we respond, every time.
A local, family-owned team
Based in Newport since 2003. You get to know the people who support you, not a call centre.
Certified and accountable
Cyber Essentials and GDPR guidance built into how we work, not bolted on as an afterthought.

How it works
Switching IT providers, without the disruption
Most clients worry that changing IT support means downtime or chaos. Here's exactly what happens instead.
STEP 1
Site survey
A free, no-obligation look at your current setup, what's working, what's risky, and what's costing you time.
STEP 2
A plan, in plain English
A tailored recommendation and clear pricing, Full Support, Scheduled Visits, or Pay As You Go, no jargon, no surprise add-ons.
STEP 3
Onboarding with minimal disruption
We migrate documentation, credentials, and monitoring across in the background, scheduled around your business, not ours.
STEP 4
Ongoing, accountable support
From day one, there's a real team who knows your setup, proactively monitoring, not just waiting for the next ticket.
What our clients say
Real results, real relationships
"We started using Distinct IT in 2014 after they were recommended to us, we immediately got the impression that they were seeking first to understand the specifics of our business and then make improvements to our IT operations based on what would work best for our team, many of whom are based remotely. In over 30 years working in both Blue Chip and SME environments it's fair to say that I haven't come across a better IT supplier whether in terms of proactively suggesting improvements as technology changes, or re-acting rapidly and effectively to any problems. The real test I guess is would we recommend them to others, the answer is a resounding yes, as we have done many times."

Common questions
Frequently asked questions
How quickly will you respond if something goes wrong?
Response times depend on the support agreement we put in place, we'll agree a clear response commitment with you during onboarding, in writing, before you sign anything. You'll never be left guessing.
Do we need to sign a long-term contract?
No. Our Full Support option has no fixed term, you're free to leave at any time. We'd rather earn your business every month than lock you into a contract.
We have staff working remotely or across multiple sites, can you support that?
Yes. Secure remote access and multi-site connectivity are core parts of what we do, not an add-on, see our IT Support and WiFi & Networking pages for detail.
What happens to our current setup if we switch to you?
We start with a full site survey, then migrate documentation, credentials, and monitoring across in the background. Most of the switch is invisible to your team, see 'How it works' above.
Do you support the specific software we already use?
In almost all cases, yes, Sage, industry-specific line-of-business tools, whatever you run. Software installs and updates are handled as part of ongoing support, not billed as separate projects.
What's the difference between Full Support and Pay As You Go?
Full Support is one monthly fee covering unlimited callouts with no separate invoices. Pay As You Go has no ongoing commitment, just a callout charge plus an hourly rate. See our IT Support page for the full breakdown.
